Skipping Ahead to ED in May 27

And now we skip ahead a bit from # 22 to # 27. I will catch up.

This is Inktense, Derwent Aquatone, and Pigma Micron - from a photo, done at lunch.

ED in May # 22

Inspired by the decor at a restaurant. I will add color to this - not much to look at without the color, but here is EDinMay # 22.

Every Day in May 18-21

Catching up on my Every Day in May. Some of these are unfinished, but I thought I'd better get something posted to show that I'm still going...

I am determined to eventually have a drawing for every day in May, so stay tuned...

I received these bright fuschia (didn't really scan that way but they are) carnations today at work. I used Inktense and Pigma Micron - a wonderful combination for the Moleskine. I did the white dots on the vase with a Signo white gel pen. A fun sketch!

ED in May 14

Last but not least is # 14 - today's sketch - actually done today!

This is inspired by a photo in Southern Living magazine. Of course using much artistic license.

And now I must go to bed!

# 11 is a very "wonky" rendition of a basket. I was very rushed with this sketch and started out all wrong. May try again - try again in May - I say... No I'm not trying to be Dr. Seuss, I'm just getting so tired I'm silly...

# 13 is from a photo I took of a still-life arrangement. I zoomed in on one section - not the greatest composition, but I like the color combination.

Catching Up EDinMay

Once again I am playing catch-up. But once again I managed to do it!!

#9 was drawn while at my brother-in-law's house. His girlfriend is an avid gardener and these are her New Guinea Impatiens. And "impatient" is what I was getting waiting for my husband to be ready to LEAVE. I wanted to go home! My dh has a '62 Impala that he built and he had stored it in his brother's garage for a couple of years. They were moving to a new location and dh was very thrilled and happy to be going to pick it up. I, however, was much less than thrilled about spending almost the entire day at their house when all I wanted to do was sleep late and - what else - paint. I did manage this quick sketch from her front porch and then shortly after it was time to leave at last!

# 10 was created from my imagination inspired by a trip to the antique shop where I saw lots of beautiful pitchers like this one and a set of brown Hull mugs. I messed up on the page at left, so I painted this blue acrylic paint over it and used a white Signo gel pen to draw the zinnia.

(# 11 got skipped in this post - I will get to it in a minute)

# 12 is from a photo of my zinnia garden of a couple of years ago. I LOVE this flower, and I can't wait to have a huge bunch growing in my yard this summer!

Every Day in May - Caught up at last

I'm caught up! It's May 8 at 10:38 and I'm posting my last sketch to catch up with this challenge! Yeah!!! This is so much fun!
I can't wait until tomorrow - only ONE sketch due - Whew!

These are all in my small moleskine - so this went way off the page - it was a closeup from just a few feet away, my trusty spray bottle of at least 10 years - who knew it would last that long. I can't remember NOT using it for my watercolors.

Every Day in May - late beginnings

The Every Day in May Challenge! I'm doing it! This is my brand new Moleskine dedicated just to the EDinM challenge. I don't have a theme, just snatches from my daily life. My coffee cup on my desk at work (01), my stapler - thought not really red and blue (02), and the view on my way to lunch (03) - literally done as I was driving through the stoplight (children do not try this at home!) I almost ran off the road! Of course I added the watercolor later in my office.

I am a few days behind, so I hope to draw three more tomorrow and post them, and then I should be up to speed! This is loads of fun after only one day!

Here's my studio redo. I finally got all my art supplies in one room - only problem is, the room is also my kitchen. I cook on one side and create on the other. Over the past few years I have purchased SO MANY art supplies and art books that it has literally taken over our house, or at least one portion of it. I love to look at the creative spaces of other artists - where all the magic happens, so I thought I'd share my little cluttered corner with you.
