EDM #63

Before I knew it was an EDM challenge, I did this sketch this weekend on a Mom and Me trip with the GA's at our church. We went to a retreat up in the mountains and Grace (my daughter) found this bloom underneath a tree. She brought it to me to keep and I drew it in the coffee shop while she had a cappuccino. Now back at home, I noticed on another blog site that this was a very fitting sketch to put in as a response to the EDM challenge! I did this in about 3 minutes, so it's not totally right, but close.

April 27, 2006

This is sort of in response to a challenge on Everyday Matters from a while back. I noticed everybody was drawing their feet. I did this sketch on Easter Sunday at a cookout at my brother's. They all thought I was insane, but I knew all you other sketchers would understand. I had just bought a new pair of flip flops and painted my toenails. I thought my foot was just beautiful. My family did not agree :-) Oh well... Did this in watercolor and pencil in my Aquabee 6 x 9 sketchbook.

First Post

This is an example of what I call my "doodles." I do these in Prismacolor marker and watercolor from my imagination. I just start drawing and see what happens. They are 4" x 6" on Stonehenge printmaking paper or Kilimanjaro watercolor paper. I carry these and my markers and watercolors around all the time. I go to the park at lunch and paint. I love the juicy colors and the bold black line of the marker. I use markers to do some of the designs and coloring too.
